7 yrs. trg. or 7 yrs. exp. in engineering related technical experience in simple & standard construction/rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple & standard civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with positions to be filled. Assists with statewide bridge inspection quality assurance, including field reviews

Responsible for user management of ODOT’s bridge inspection and inventory system, Assetwise

Official Position Description:
Based on job duties, this position is designated as telework eligible on a hybrid basis (i.e., working at least 3 days per week in the office); the selected applicant must complete the initial training period prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed and must be approved by ODOTs Chief Human Resources Officer.
In the Division of Engineering, Office of Structural Engineering, independently manages ODOT's snooper truck operations for multiple complex bridge projects in the field. Updates, maintains, & enforces ODOT's Snooper Operations Manual; analyzes existing operations to determine necessary improvements & conducts cost/time/quality control studies; ensures compliance with state & federal rules & regulations. Serves as liaison with various sources (e.g., equipment manufacturers, distributors, government agencies) regarding rehabilitation & maintenance of the snooper trucks. Analyzes bids received & recommends vendors for the procurement & maintenance of the snooper truck & inspection related equipment; travels & inspects condition & operation of the snooper trucks, inspection equipment to ensure technical & safety requirements are met. Utilizes computer & related software (e.g., Enterprise Information Management System (EIMS) & AssetWise) to collect inspection data & optimize yearly operations schedule; assists districts & local agencies with annual bridge inspection schedule & programming snooper access.
Provides support to users for ODOT's bridge inspection system (i.e., AssetWise) (e.g., account setup, access, & roles; troubleshoots & assists with issues, problems, &/or questions; assists in workflow design & website quality; conducts audits of inactive users); attends meetings & works with AssetWise representatives to ensure system meets agency's operational needs; participates in training & works with end users to promote system security.
Works with agency staff, consultants, local, state, & federal agencies (e.g., Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)) to ensure compliance with state & federal regulations (e.g., bridge inspection metrics) related to bridge inspection quality assurance & quality control of bridge data. Attends training sessions, keeps abreast of developments pertaining to bridge inspection, bridge access, & safety. Utilizes computer & related software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Transportation Information Mapping System (TIMS)) to prepare spreadsheets, present information, run queries, produce charts &/or to draft correspondence & reports. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
