What We’re Looking For

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our DevSecOps CloudOps team. The Cloud Operations Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and restoring services to maintain system availability across multiple PAR brands. Under general supervision and adhering to established procedures, the Cloud Operations Engineer will design and implement monitoring strategies related to cloud infrastructure and applications.

What You will Do and Be Responsible For

Collaborate closely with various Engineering and DevOps teams to monitor and provide constant feedback to ensure the quality and availability of services.

Design monitoring strategies and create monitors for complex systems.

Create and maintain documentation for normal operations and incident response.

Ensure system availability and performance across multiple PAR brands.

Acknowledge tickets, respond accordingly using existing SOPs or Runbooks, and facilitate escalation as required for service issues.

Document and analyze alarms, identify points of failure, and see through to resolution any failures working with or escalating to the appropriate team member or department if needed.

Utilize system and performance monitoring tools to ensure reliability (Datadog, New Relic, and Uptime.com)

Participate in customer lifecycle utilizing existing change management procedures.

Interface daily with internal and external support groups

Participate in 24-hour system monitoring and alarm remediation, including after-hours rotation.

Why We Need You (Skill and Abilities)

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 4 years of experience with New Relic and/or Datadog.

Minimum of 4 years of experience with AWS.

Minimum of 4 years of experience with RDS, MySQL, and Postgres.

Minimum of 4 years of experience with Python, NodeJS, and/or PowerShell.

Minimum of 3 years of experience with containers and Kubernetes.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Ruby and Go/Golang.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Kafka.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code, including creating or modifying changes.

Extensive experience with open-source monitoring solutions.

Strong documentation skills, including creating accurate step-by-step procedures for normal operations and incident response.
