The Epic Application Coordinator performs the planning, design, build, validation, testing, and implementation of information systems that support and enhance clinical practice and business processes. Acts as the principle resource with clinical knowledge and computer expertise to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to Epic systems.

Responsibilities
Systems Analysis and Support
Plans, designs, builds, validates, tests, implements, and supports information systems to meet assigned customer needs.
Provides customer service to define business needs and translate those needs into system functionality requirements.
Provides analysis on system design specifications and system/product evaluation.
Provides system coding and programming as required.
Develops and implements data queries and reports as needed.
Creates and maintains high quality system, report, and interface test scripts.
Assures data integrity and system survivability by developing and maintaining Disaster Recovery plans for assigned systems, understands and approves back up procedures, tests DR plans and system restores, and maintains current data in DR databases and tools (e.g., CHAOS).
Develops customer and system documentation as required.
Provides effective user training and support.
Provides troubleshooting, problem analysis, debugging, and resolution of assigned system issues.
Performs system updates, patches, service releases, and upgrades as needed.? Performs other duties as assigned.
IS Operational Support
Utilizes IS Operational support systems to include the Support Center, Change Control, Problem Management, source and version control, and other systems as required.
Builds and maintains vendor relationships to ensure products and/or services meet the business and clinical needs and objectives of the Hospital.
Works to minimize systems outages and the effects of outages on Hospital users by scheduling needed system downtimes to provide minimal disruption of service to users, proactively monitoring and analyzing system performance to proactively detect and resolve production system issues, and performing stringent system testing before implementing new solutions or system changes.
Sets the example for providing fiscal responsibility in the use of Hospital resources by designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions to best utilize those resources in areas of responsibility.
Project Management
Applies project management principles, industry best practices, and IS Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies to all assigned projects.
Leads teams on small to medium of limited scope and budget.
Leads project scope development, project status reporting, schedules project execution, manages vendor performance and customer expectations, and facilitates meetings.
Interacts closely with the PMO for planning and status reporting.
Information Assurance
Knowledgeable of and adheres to Nationwide Children's Hospital policies, processes, procedures, standards, and guidelines governing privacy, security, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
Develops, implements, and/or maintains systems following IS Information Assurance policies, processes, procedures, and guidelines and industry standards to address security, privacy, quality controlled testing, and disaster recovery/business continuity needs to protect Children's Hospital information and resources at established, defined levels.
Actively protects sensitive, classified, and confidential information.
Uses and accesses systems and information only for authorized purposes and in accordance with security procedures and guidelines to perform job duties as assigned.
Maintains individual accountability for security controls and measures (e.g., individual passwords are not shared with other users).
Reports suspected security and/or privacy incidents following established Nationwide Children's Hospital procedures.
Follows established procedures for quality testing and security alignment to conduct reviews and audits of systems and information for assigned areas of responsibility.
Maintains systems to keep information and resources secure and safe from known vulnerabilities to include updating applications and systems with security patches and code updates, applying appropriate virus protection, and testing changes before placing into production environments.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
At least 4 years experience providing systems analysis support required. Experience in health care environments preferred.
A clinical background in any discipline is highly desired. Pediatric experience preferred, or nurse desired for clinical application.
An operational background in revenue cycle management desired for the non-clinical application.
Experience interacting with clinical or business areas to gather and understand workflow and technical requirements.
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required. Clinical Licensure and/or other certifications preferred
Epic certification strongly desired
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
Strong skills in use of PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements; requires occasional after-hours support and overnight travel.
