The Board of Warrambui are seeking a devoted Christian leader to take our Campsite and Conference facilities in Murrumbateman, NSW (just outside Canberra) into a new Era.

Following 10 years of phenomenal service, our current Centre Director is ready to move on.

We seek a dynamic leader or couple to fill their shoes and continue the ministry journey at Warrambui that’s been going on for over 50 years.

About the role We seek a committed Christian/s who are looking to grow in their faith journey and share that journey with others.

Leading a team of hospitality, maintenance, operations and ministry interns, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of this multipurpose venue.

You’ll plan for the long term and ensure the operations of camping (predominantly primary and high school aged children) provides a guest experience that ensures repeat business.

Whether it be advising the board on the long-term capital replacement of key site facilities, building capability in your team, implementing new marketing initiatives, or working on program design; this role is sure to keep you interested and provide diversity to your day.

Either individually or as a couple (also welcome). You’ll have a heart for Jesus and bringing his love through running inspired and high-quality camping experiences.

This position requires a spiritually mature Christian who is able and willing to support the Mission, Ministry and Confession of the Lutheran Church.

The successful applicant is required to live on-site and be involved in the daily activities of the centre, as well as playing an active part in the Warrambui community.

You’ll be a good negotiator and communicator.

Ideally, you’ll have experience running a campsite and/or young people's ministry.

You’ll have experience leading teams and a strong customer service ethic.

You’ll be confident in sharing your faith with others and actively live out your faith in how you go about your work.

Warrambui is committed to protecting children, young people, and vulnerable people from harm.

You must be able to gain and hold a successful NSW working with children check and agree to a range of other preemployment checks including with police and professional, personal, and pastoral referees.

As part of our recruitment process, we’ll want to get to know you in a variety of ways and at various stages of the process we’ll have you visit the site, meet the team, and talk with our key stakeholders About Warrambui Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre is a project of the Lutheran Church of Australia (NSW & ACT District) with over 40 years’ experience in Christian hospitality, youth leadership training and camping ministry.

Warrambui provides fully catered accommodation and onsite activities to school, youth, church, community and corporate groups of up to 200 people.

Catering to all manner of camping groups, Warrambui’s market is focused on Children.

Set over 250 Acres of bushland just outside of Canberra, Warrambui is the perfect getaway for groups visiting Canberra, or those who might be in the region looking for the ideal spot to hold their next retreat.

Warrambui offers different accommodation options.

The Village contains ensuite rooms and a large Conference Centre.

The recently refurbished Dome is a remarkable building and the destination of choice for groups that want to connect and spend time with each other in an all-purpose facility.

Warrambui has conducted an annual volunteer internship program since the early 1990s.

Since 2023, this program has included young women from PNG, providing them with valuable work experience, formal qualifications and the opportunity to provide ministry to many Lutherans across the ACT and NSW.

Warrambui offers a comprehensive remuneration package for the right person/people.
