The Shipping Yard Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment such as forklifts (propane and/or electric), hand trucks, and pallet jacks to move stock or reorganize storage.

Performs general maintenance and clean-up of the work area.

Knowledge, Education, and ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience operating sit-down forklift trucks (propane and/or electric) with the ability to operate them safely in congested areas.

Ability to perform basic math calculations with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Must be reliable, with the ability to work independently and in team settings, always maintain a positive attitude, and remain calm in stressful situations.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills working with a diverse population.
