EHS Manager

Responsible to provide a good occupational safety, health and environmental conservation programs for SJO Plant and Distribution center. It s also responsible for managing external services as Medical and Physical Security vendors and their plans and execution. Must control, evaluate and improve all the necessary actions at EHS perspective to find a high reliability of the total facility operation. Main purpose is to prevent and decrease accidents, incidents and occupational illnesses as well to assure to provide to our employees a safety environment, in compliance with all legal and corporate politics. Develop actions to improve the sustainability perform of the site and reduce the environmental impact.

Key Accountabilities

Responsible for assessing and implement good health and safety practices in administrative and production areas. Including: BOS, Safety Inspections, Near Misses and First Aids Analysis, HiPos.

Responsible of follow up to close actions in the different EHS programs or activities (Safety observations, environmental actions, ergonomic activities, golden rules, etc). Ensure all safety and environmental signs are complete, in place and updated when is required.

Promote and coordinate the operation of EHS commission and emergency brigade. Promote the execution at least one time per year and per site evacuation activities, evaluate results and implement actions needed.

Control and promote the reduction of labor incidents and work-related illness. Lead the efforts to have the best condition in the workplaces, ergonomic, compliance issues, postural, etc.

Ensure life/safety systems are always operable. This include but not limited to sprinkler system, smoke and fire detection system, fire extinguishers, and evacuation plans.

Develop actions to improve the sustainability perform of the site and reduce the environmental impact.

Manage and promote an adequate strategy of recycling and waste management system.

Coordinate all actions required to ISO50001 certification and any other that the company will look for in the future.

Assure compliance with required reports due to legislation.

Support the review of all new process, machines or projects (CAPEX for example) to assure comply with EHS standards.

Coordinate and manage medical services in the company. Medical doctor, psychology and physiotherapy.

Coordinate and manage Security services in the company.

Knowledge & Experience Requiered

EHS engineer degree or related engineer carrer degree.

Knowledge over EHS legislation and international standards as OSHA and ISO.

Strong operational and manufacturing leadership knowledge in Food Industry, with 5 years minimum experience.

Demonstrated abilities in leadership of medium to big teams.

English Advanced
