The Assistant Practice Manager shall assist the Practice Manager with the daily operations of a physician clinic within the Baptist Health Physician Group. This individual is responsible for monitoring the ambulatory clinic's day-to-day functions including patient registration, coding and charge entry functions, with an emphasis on the billing aspect of each patient encounter, as well as, staffing, and overall operations. The Assistant Manager shall review patient registrations on a sample basis for issues and training opportunities. This individual will develop and conduct standardized training, assist with operational process improvement, and new hire orientation. The Assistant Manager will serve as a subject matter expert and provides high-quality customer service. The Assistant Manager will maintain and develop educational and training documentation for all clinic staff. This individual will contact Physicians or other departments regarding procedures/diagnoses to ensure proper data entry. The Assistant Manger will also monitor and participate in the performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, the individual shall participate in inter/intra departmental meetings and presentations, and participate in professional development activities to keep current with trends in coding and overall revenue cycle. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or 3 years of comparable experience in healthcare or supervisory related field required;

training in medical terminology a plus.

Clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, or other clinical related field a plus.

Billing and/or coding experience a plus.

Knowledge of coding policies, procedures and reimbursement practices

Knowledge of revenue cycle operations in a healthcare environment

Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers

Ability to work quickly and accurately, with attention to detail

Strong analytical, problem-solving, evaluation skills and basic math

Strong Organizational and time management skills with demonstration of self-discipline.

Ability to multi-task and establish priorities effectively

Self-directed and capable of working without direct supervision

Dependable in both production and attendance

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse environment

Commitment to quality of revenue cycle processes and process improvement

Working knowledge of PC applications, Word, Excel, Electronic Medical Record and Billing systems, etc. CERNER Revenue Cycle and PowerChart Experience a plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Customer support and service skills with a customer focused attitude.

General knowledge of IT concepts, best practices and procedures.

Ability to work outside of standard business hours as needed.

Projects a professional image.
