Position Overview

New opening for HSE Manager to lead the Aegeus Group's Safety Program! This is a great opportunity to help create and implement change to promote a safety forward culture! This position includes a sign on bonus, annual bonus program along with 401K and full benefits. Come join the Aegeus Team!

The main duties include:

Organize, implement, direct and maintain the HSE program including safety policies, programs, practices, training, drug and alcohol programs, and all other components of a successful HSE Program for the entire group.

Business partner with the Aegeus Group CEO, BU Presidents and Vice Presidents, Operational leaders and other staff to ensure an effective HSE Program for all Field and Office operations.

Oversee, manage, and direct the HSE Department; this includes resource planning, measuring department effectiveness, setting department goals in line with and supporting Aegeus Group goals.

Articulate and live the Aegeus HSE culture by modelling the required behaviors and actions in the office and work sites and hold others (employees and peers) accountable for their actions by identifying and acting on behaviors which are inconsistent with Aegeus HSE and professional standards.

Oversee and manage the internal and external HSE audit program. This includes shop, facility, and external job site audits; working with HSE personnel, Operational leaders, and other personnel to ensure HSE field audits are being done correctly and non-compliances are reported and corrected immediately.

Oversee and manage the company’s’ drug and alcohol programs, ensuring compliance with client and federal requirements.

Develop, lead, and maintain the company’s safety training program for all employees including annual refresher training, new hire training required by job functions, and safety certification requirements.

Develop and maintain an understanding of Operations, Personnel, and Work Processes and customize the HSE function to support those needs by creating and maintaining Aegeus HSE policies, programs, and safety personnel to exceed the minimum performance standards.

Support Operations deployment of the Aegeus HSE Management System across all Business Units, particularly HSE program implementation and compliance, to ensure safety is part of Aegeus’s day-to-day operations at every worksite.

Manage 3rd party client required portals such as ISNetworld and Veriforce for safety inputs, grade scores, and insurance updates.

Lead the development, maintenance and communication of the HSE manual which provides policies, procedures and practices which addresses legislative requirements; seek consolidated feedback on improvement areas.

Lead the collection of applicable safety statistics; analyze and interpret those safety statistics, identifying key trends and implementing corrective actions; present statistics, trends, and corrective actions to the senior leadership team and HSE Department monthly.

Education and Work Experience

7+ years of related HSE experience.

2+ years of HSE supervisory experience and leading an HSE Program for an organization required.

SiteDocs experience a plus.

Bachelors or Associates degree and/or equivalent work experience.

Experience in using customer web-based pre-qualifications systems such as ISNetWorld, Veriforce, PEC, PIC, TransAdvisor, BROWZ, and other web based systems used in training.

Broad CA OSHA & EPA regulatory knowledge and experience preferred.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Certificates and Licenses Required

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.

CHST, OHST, STS and/or CIH is a plus.

OSHA Outreach Trainer credentials a plus.

Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.
