About the Job:

The Department of Juvenile Justice is looking for dedicated and qualified individuals to join our team as a Certification Analyst. In this important role, selected individual(s) will be responsible for conducting certification audits of regulated programs and performing monitoring visits to ensure ongoing compliance with established standards. The Certification Analyst will help to improve the functioning of programs serving court-referred youth by providing essential technical assistance.

Key responsibilities in include but are not limited to:

Conduct certification audits of regulated programs to ensure compliance with standards.

Perform monitoring visits to assess the ongoing compliance of assigned programs and completes the appropriate reports.

Responds to on-call emergency notifications and conducts inquiries into allegations of abuse/neglect, substandard care, living environment deficiencies, and programmatic deficiencies, as directed by supervisor.

Provide technical assistance to enhance the effectiveness of partnerships and relations between child serving agencies and the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Ensure that programs and residential facilities comply with regulatory standards and maintain safe and secure conditions for placement or confinement.

Offer guidance and support to improve the functioning of programs and residential facilities.

Additional Information:

This position requires frequent travel.

This position will involve telework.

Work hours may vary based on the demands of the workload.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of state and local juvenile justice program and related policy, procedure and applicable state and federal laws.

Considerable knowledge and experience in the operation of residential juvenile residential facilities to include group homes, secure detention or juvenile correctional facilities.

Working knowledge of juvenile correctional treatment services and supervision.

Some experience with the auditing process and some knowledge of program design and evaluation.

Skills in coordinating and leading a group process, training staff and writing clear and concise evaluative reports.

Ability to interpret regulations, analyze data and effect cooperative working relationships.

Ability to prepare and deliver briefings and presentations.

Additional Considerations

Additional considerations include:

Experience in correctional treatment programs.

Progressively responsible administrative experience including oversight responsibility.
