Introduction

We are looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced Service Centre Planner to create, modify, and manage production schedules in a shop environment. The Service Centre Planner’s responsibilities include follow up on parts order deliveries for timely execution and delivery of products and services to customers. You should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget.

This supervisory position at the Service Center and you will play an integral part in securing future work, therefore, shall provide technical expertise for mechanical projects, including scheduling, estimating, parts sourcing and turn over packages to the clients. You may also have a Level I welding inspection certificate (preferably).

Your responsibilities

Manage production deadlines, including input for parts / other shop services sourcing

Perform job estimation work including material, equipment and labor quantities / costs

Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production

Create specific ITP packages and turnover QA/QC packages as applicable to the scope of work a and customer requirements in PO

Interpret contract specifications and drawings, as well as have a thorough understanding of scope of work and requirements, and understand construction logic and sequencing

Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality

Compile information required for shop operations / status reporting purposes

Review order intake, revenue, margins, invoices and interact with vendors

Report on production schedule changes and recovery plans

What you bring

Include the key requirements to be considered for this position.

Five (5) years QA/QC experience (shop environment specific is preferable)

Five (5) years scheduling/coordinating (shop environment specific is preferable)

Excellent mechanical background and aptitude with emphasis on trouble shooting

Oilsands Industry experience (Ore Prep, Slurry Prep, HD Conveyors, HPGR’s, Pumps)

Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy while working with a variety of individuals, groups, and clients

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Independent and reliable with excellent organizational and time management skills
