As a Black Oxide Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by ensuring the precise application of black oxide coatings to metal components, resulting in enhanced durability and corrosion resistance.

1. Operate and maintain black oxide equipment and machinery in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.

2. Prepare metal components for the black oxide process by cleaning, degreasing, and performing necessary pretreatment steps.

3. Monitor the black oxide process to achieve precise coating thickness and color consistency, ensuring that parts meet quality standards.

4. Conduct regular inspections of coated components for defects, and perform any necessary touch ups or rework as needed.

5. Maintain accurate records of processing parameters, inspection results, and inventory levels.

6. Collaborate with the production team to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.

7. Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues or process inefficiencies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

8. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

9. Perform all other duties as assigned.

One 1 to three 3 years of experience as a Black Oxide Operator or a similar role in a metal manufacturing environment. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Familiarity with black oxide processes, chemical composition, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and a quality conscious mindset. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects when necessary. Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekend shifts as production demands.

Technical certification in metal finishing or related field, experience with precision measuring instruments calipers, micrometers, etc., and knowledge of different metal alloys and their unique black oxide requirements is preferred.
