The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all sales and related tasks within their designated territory, focusing on creating and maintaining strong working relationships with clients. This role involves close collaboration with the Sales Director to develop and implement effective sales strategies and goals.

Location:

California based candidate, Los Angeles preferred

Remote

25% travel to include CA sales trips and light travel to outlying markets

Western territory to include:

N California - CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, UT, AK, HI

S California - CA, NV, AZ, NM

CO

Western Canada (SK, AB, and BC)

Essential Functions:

1. Sales and Client Relationship Management:

Brand Ambassador:

Represent Calico Wallpaper with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Promote and expand business within the designated territory through client engagement and relationship-building.

Client Acquisition:

Identify potential clients and decision-makers within target markets.

Strategically and actively seek new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.

Develop and present tailored product knowledge presentations to potential clients.

Product Presentations:

Schedule and conduct product presentations for both new collections and existing products, showcasing product features, benefits, and applications.

Tailor presentations to address specific client needs and preferences.

Sales Closure:

Follow up on all client and project leads promptly.

Prepare and present proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales effectively.

Turn quotes into orders by addressing client concerns and objections.

2. Territory and Business Management:

Territory Analysis:

Conduct regular market analysis to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs.

Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.

Territory Management:

Manage new and existing business within your territory to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Develop and implement territory-specific sales plans.

Client Library Maintenance:

Ensure Calico's presence in client libraries is up-to-date with the latest product offerings and information.

Sales Collateral:

Provide clients with necessary sales collateral, including brochures, samples, and digital resources.

Sample Orders:

Process sample orders efficiently and ensure timely delivery to clients.

3. Client Service and Support:

Client Service:

Deliver a best-in-class experience and outstanding level of service to your clients.

Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide solutions to their needs.

Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.

Communication and Reporting:

Attend weekly virtual meetings with the sales team to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies.

Submit weekly call reports to management detailing client interactions, sales activities, and outcomes.

Present sales recaps and report on current business during regular meetings with management.

4. Event Representation and Participation:

Event Representation:

Represent and sell Calico Wallpaper at industry trade events, regional trade shows, and networking events.

Prepare and set up booths, displays, and presentations for trade shows and events.

Engage with attendees, provide product information, and generate leads.

Networking:

Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers, designers, architects, and other potential clients.

Attend industry events and networking functions to expand your professional network.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of Sales in textile or wallcovering sales experience.

Attitude: Upbeat, energetic, and a can-do attitude.

Work Environment: Ability to work from a home office and showroom; hybrid work model.

Team Player: Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Organizational Skills: Stellar organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.

Customer-Centric: Track record of providing fast response times and a customer-centric mentality.

Communication: Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Technology Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and well-versed with ERP/CRM systems.

Travel: Some travel required for regular client visits, trade shows, and company events.

Transportation: Reliable transportation and internet required.
