We're looking for a Freight Audit and Payment Specialist to join our Logistics team based in Easton, PA.

Please note, this is a temporary, W-2 opportunity

Qualified candidates will have strong analytical and communication skills. They are extremely accurate, efficient and detail oriented, possess the ability to problem solve, and have an attitude of continuous improvement. This position is located within the Logistics Department reporting to the Sr. Mgr. Global Logistics.

The day-to-day activities include multiple currency global freight payment review, rate maintenance, freight audits and logistics financial reporting. The FAP Specialist will add value to the organization by having an ongoing impact on financial transactions and maintaining critical relationships with both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

Maintain proper financial controls.

Manage 3rd party freight payment software for global operations.

Review freight invoices for proper billing.

Research carrier contracts, rates, and rules tariffs to resolve pricing disputes and maintain accuracy within our third-party freight payment applications.

Conduct rate audit and rate analysis to ensure payment accuracy and red flag abnormal spend.

Research and resolve rate application issues and carrier questions.

Coordinate with Accounts Payable department for payment recognition and reconciliations.

Payment research and support for global operations.

Produce weekly and monthly AP aging.

Monitor and address overdue collections as necessary.

Perform monthly accrual process report.

Develop metrics and spend analysis to determine meaningful trends.

Analyze and process changes in information systems to support accurate and efficient freight payment processes.

May involve negotiating with carriers to resolve discrepancies, or discussions with internal/external partners to identify appropriate course of action for resolutions and recurrence of freight payment issues.

Engage with technology teams for QlikSense financial applications.

Initiate ideas for cost reductions through noticing trends in freight payment.

Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in accurately estimating freight cost and ensure payment accuracy.

Ensures proper receipt of funds owed by carriers due to won disputes, claims, etc.

Participate in team projects, as necessary.

Prepare ad-hoc reports as necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

2+ years of experience in freight audit processes, account management, or entry level accounting and finance.

The ability to have attention to the numbers while also possessing the personal skills to communicate and assist company needs.

Must possess a strong mental aptitude to quickly acquire an in-depth understanding of numerous internal applications/processes.

Easily gain an understanding of assigned carriers’ contracts, pricing methodologies, and rules tariffs, along with a firm grasp of the transportation industry in general so that the root cause(s) of discrepancy items can be quickly identified.

The ability to consistently execute a high volume of transactions, while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related
