Qualifications:
High school graduate/GED
3 years of formal dining room and managerial experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy, and compassion
Effective communication skills
Must posses the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and the public
Must be familiar with HACCP protocols
Must posses the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices as approved by Director
Must possess knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and guidelines regarding food service practices in healthcare institutions
Be able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
Must be able to greet and interact with residents and ensure all patrons have an enjoyable and satisfying experience in the dining room
Essential Duties
Update all resident dining information systems, reservations, menus and server checks, as needed
Manage and maintain a POS system.
Monitor dining employee attendance and conduct performance evaluations
Prepares schedules and processes payroll
Ensure automated departmental systems are functional
Notification to Director of Dining and Hospitality Services of inventory requirements in a timely fashion
Ensure staff completes all mandatory in-services and trains staff in proper procedures
Adherence to all safety policies & procedures of The Chesapeake and regulatory authorities
Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure resident’s rights and employee confidentiality are protected
Assure that all Dining Services protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established policy
Ensure menus and server checks are printed daily and without errors
Responsible for developing in-service training programs for all dining room staff
Performance of other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed
Comfortability with Microsoft Office including Word, Power point, and Excel
