Knowledge of teacher education designed for arts & crafts & assigned grade level; departmental policies & procedures concerning operations of educational program to include those for discipline &/or security*. Skill in arts & crafts & operating equipment associated with arts & crafts & audio-visual equipment. Ability to assess educational needs of students & develop appropriate lesson plans & individualized assistance; prepare & maintain accurate & concise reports & records; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; establish good rapport with students & work cooperatively with other facility staff members. What You'll Do:

Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of Teacher Education

Provides instruction in arts and in-dividual assistance

Assesses educational needs of students

Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training

Provides instruction and individual assistance

Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators

Maintains discipline and/or security

Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems

Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed

Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials

Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development

Performs other duties as assigned

This position does require travel and work at London Correctional and Corrections Reception Center
