As part of the McKesson Data & Analytics team, this individual will be responsible for designing, developing our data architecture strategy. The Data Architect ensures tight alignment and collaboration with technology and business teams, taking ownership for essential data strategy decisions.

The Data Architect will perform the following:

Coordinate and work together with internal stakeholders, such as program managers, to gather requirements and model criteria.

Leverage tools and resources to plan, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives

The candidate will be responsible for the data integration and solution design for ingesting data from various sources to the data warehouse

Create and manage an array of data design deliverables including data models, data diagrams, data flows and corresponding data dictionary documentation

Serve as an advocate for the data analytics team and data management discipline, policies, and standards across MMS organization

Mapping of relational entities to use cases or business requirements and assisting in the development of data services

Influence projects to make decisions related to data strategies including data quality, data architecture and data management best practices.

Be proactive and provide status of effort accomplished, estimates of remaining effort, and issues impacting progress

Work closely with the other Data Engineers and Scientists to deliver results

Troubleshooting, Monitoring and Performance Tuning of various software components of various data science analytical solutions, Restful web services and etc.

Understanding of large database mining tools and statistical languages utilized to efficiently build approaches and execute on analytical use cases.

Communicate results and educate others through reports and presentations

Demonstrated experience in reviewing enterprise and data architecture artifacts, deliverables, and processes for quality standards

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, including data requirements collection, data architecture analysis, evaluation, documentation, data modeling, design, development, model validation, and data integration

Critical Skills

Extensive experience with designing and implementing Data Lakes or similar solutions both on-premise/on-cloud (AZURE/GCP/AWS).

3+ years of Experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, Pig, Oozie, Flume, and Streaming and similar distributed computing technologies. Proficiency in analysis (e.g. Python, R, SAS) packages

Strong quantitative analysis background and experience in working with large, complex data systems to aggregate, organize, and prepare data for use in business analysis.

Strong mathematical background with strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: statistics, data mining, statistics, operations research, econometrics, and/or information retrieval (image processing (OpenCV) and natural language processing is a plus).

Solid Understanding/Experience in extracting, cleaning, preparing and modeling data. Experience with ETL tools such as IBM Infosphere Datastage, Azure Data Factory.

Experience with command-line scripting, data structures, and algorithms along with parallel programming techniques; ability to work in a Linux environment is a plus.

Data visualization and/or power point presentation skills to effectively communicate insights is a plus.

Proficiency in database languages (e.g. Hive, SQL) and programming languages (e.g. Python, Scala (or Java), shell scripting.). Web application development frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot (for micro-services).

Up to 10-15% travel may be required (domestic and international)

Additional Knowledge / Skills:

Understanding of the agile software development methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)

Strong experience with the distributed cluster management. Understanding of Docker/ Kubernetes container orchestration technologies.

Proven ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.

Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Physical Requirements.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$140,800 - $234,600
