Summary

NCI is looking to fill an Information Technology Specialist (INET) position with someone who will provide technical expertise and guidance for the design, development, and maintenance of web-based content.

Duties

Provides technical expertise, support, and assistance for Division information system products used by scientific and administrative staff.

Interacts with lead users and other content stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain highly visible web-based content.

Applies internet informational concepts and principles to develop content and various sites.

Provides support for assigned projects.

Monitors the web-sites and supporting systems and software infrastructure.

Documents, tracks, and responds to site changes requested by business owners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-11 level if you meet the following qualification requirements:

Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in one of the areas described above leading to such a degree;

OR

Have IT related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the public or private sector showing proficiency in the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication, and 4) Problem Solving. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks: assisting in designing, monitoring, and maintaining web-based content; participating in IT product development and implementation projects and activities; reviewing policies, standards, and guidelines relating to information systems, hardware, and software; and serving as a liaison between scientists, administrative staff, and application developers to respond to IT changes requested.

You qualify at the GS-12 level if you meet the following qualification requirements:

Have IT related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the public or private sector showing proficiency in the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication, and 4) Problem Solving.
