Job Posting Title Senior OT Cyber Security Specialist Job Category IT Security Language Requirements English / Anglais Flexible Work Agreement Type Posting End Date 2024-07-03 Job Grade PIPSC-4 Pay Range $123,506 - $155,150 Job Summary The Senior OT (Operational Technology) Cyber Security Specialist will primarily be responsible for leading Cyber Risk Management (CRM) activities related to OT, including leading a working group to champion and implement frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443.

Secondary duties will be supporting the Cyber Risk and/or Vulnerability Management programs.

Maintain and present data needed to meet cyber security reporting.

Ensure that security improvement actions are evaluated, validated, and implemented as required.

Ensure that cyber security requirements are integrated into procurements, programs, and projects.

Evaluate and approve development efforts to ensure that baseline security safeguards are appropriately installed.

Identify alternative cyber security strategies to address NAV CANADA’s business objectives.

Provide technical/operational expertise and direction in one or more areas of specialization, and/or across-functionally across the organization on systems.

Represent ECS a technical expert in own functional area.

Champion ideas and innovations.

Under the Manager’s directions, lead on-going life-cycle support of national system(s) in own functional area for the company nationally, developing optimum performance levels.

Job Requirements Education: Graduation from a recognized postsecondary institution with specialization in cyber security, computer science, systems engineering, data analytics; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience: 5 years of professional experience within a cyber security or related field considered an asset.

Previous experience using specialized tools in support of cyber security activities.

Experience analysing data and/or operational logs to identify anomalies or generate metrics.

Practical experience in the planning and delivery of large-scale projects, including the preparation of required documentation; and Experience troubleshooting technical issues, conducting research, and presenting solutions to management.

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of specific critical systems, Cyber security programs, security assessment phase of a project, operations and maintenance techniques and practices.

Thorough knowledge of industry trends and developments and leading-edge technologies.

Knowledge to Interpret patterns of noncompliance to determine their impact on levels of risk and/or overall effectiveness of the NAV CANADA’s cyber security program.

Knowledge of communication equipment, configuration management and software engineering techniques.

Knowledge of small, medium, and large-scale computer systems, hardware, third and/or fourth generation software languages, test, software development, software generation and configuration management tools and methods.

Knowledge of network communications, digital communications specifications, and protocols.

Knowledge of contract/procurement processes.

Knowledge of available test methodologies, fault-finding techniques, and diagnostic tools (e.g., protocol analyzers, programs) for hardware and interface testing.

Abilities: Ability to maintain and enhance NAV CANADA’s security architecture, policies, processes, and frameworks.

Ability to comply with established internal standards, policies, and procedures.

Ability to lead cyber security participation in acquisitions, procurement, and outsourcing efforts to address information security requirements consistent with organization goals.

Ability to champion and advocate for Safety Management and Quality Management Systems.

Ability to lead in a specific area of expertise such as Cloud, Operational Technology, Strategic Programs etc., developing and implementing frameworks, strategies, and/or programs.

Ability to oversee the entire cybersecurity life cycle, from design to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational frameworks, resolving inconsistencies, and enhancing security posture through proactive risk management and compliance efforts.

Personal Suitability: Builds cross-functional relationships to gain support and influence cyber security maturity.

Collaborates with peers, customers, partners and vendors for the betterment of information sharing amongst various groups.

Provide expert advice, guidance, and opinions in area of specialization.

Influence the thinking of others cross-functionally to ensure department and functional goals are met.

Coaches and mentors others in their field of expertise.

Champions ideas and innovations.

Working conditions: This position is based at National Capital Region but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.

Typically conducted in a cubicle and/or open office and/or meeting room and/or lab environments using computer-based tools.

Participation in one or more active projects / assignments where multi-tasking is required.

Time pressures are tight with multiple deadlines, but the Senior Specialist has control over the sequencing of work schedule.

Travel may be required.

May be a requirement for onsite work during security events.
