Summary:

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and leading Vecta safety culture to prevent incidents and ensure compliance with the health, safety and environmental laws. The Safety Manager ensures that all safety management activities meet or exceed to quality standards of both Vecta and its clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule and control safety functions at assigned job sites to meet/exceed expectations.

Review all safety policies periodically; anticipate changes in laws/regulations and position the company to ensure efficient compliance; work with management on appropriate action.

Control job site safety through safety audits, training, incident, investigation and other safety services.

Enforcement, communication and improvement of EHS requirements.

Conduct new hire EHS orientations and other EHS trainings as assigned.

Help implement new programs, polices and procedures.

Maintain record keeping to accurately report and document safety activities and results.

Provide timely communication and accurate documentation of all client and company related activities to leadership.

Performs other duties as required.

Capable of performing and acquiring certification in Confined Space Rescue.

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and overtime.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Health & Safety field. 5+ years' experience in HAZWOPPER Emergency Response, Confined Space Entry and Excavation is strongly preferred.

TWIC card.

Associates degree in occupational health and safety or a closely related field preferred.

Strong organizational skills, time-management and attention to detail.

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, holidays, and be on call.

Submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen. Pass a physical, hair follicle drug test and background checks to Vecta standards.

Ability to wear a respirator if necessary.

Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds.

Ability to perform manual labor (i.e. heavy lifting, confined space entry, working at heights, etc.).
