Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Job Coach for the Academy of Inclusion - Boca Raton, FL.

The Academy for Community Inclusion (ACI) Job Coach works with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in employment settings on the FAU campus and in community settings. This includes training and coaching ACI students in supported and competitive work experiences and working with employers to help transition Academy students into the workplace. The Job Coach works collaboratively with the University, students, faculty, and employers to provide safe and productive work opportunities for the students in the FAU ACI program.

Works with ACI employment specialist to identify and develop cooperative job sites on the FAU Boca Raton campus and in the community (south Palm Beach county and Broward county); trains and monitors individual students in their job assignments at the job sites; organizes and conducts extended evaluations of students.

Evaluates, teaches, and monitors job skills on campus and community job sites; evaluates, teaches, and monitors related tasks required for employment including getting to and from work, interaction with other employees, using equipment, clocking in/out, observing work rules, etc.

Evaluates progress and competency of students on the job; provides feedback to Employment Supervisor on student progress and suggestions for improvement.

Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records & assessments as required by program requirements on shared drive.

Assists in developing the ACI “Extended Job Coaching Model” for ACI graduates to receive support for up to 5 years after their graduation.

Participates in and maintains data for the ACI “Extended Job Coaching Model” for ACI graduates.

Attends recruiting events and other community events as needed.

Attends ACI orientation each Fall.

Attends case load planning meetings and graduation meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma and five years of appropriate experience required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.

Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of faculty, staff, and students.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Salary:$43,000 - $45,000 per year.

Work Days and Hours:Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

This position is eligible for flex scheduling under the discretion of the supervisor.
