Reports To: Associate Superintendent of Academics

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, occasional weekends and evenings as needed

Summary: The Director of Instructional Leadership will be responsible for promoting a culture of academic excellence through instructional leadership coaching and make a significant contribution to academic excellence. This position will contribute to the building of systems that increase student achievement across schools. The Director of Instructional Leadership will be a master teacher of principals, helping them increase their instructional leadership capacities as means of improving teaching and learning in each school.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the Associate Superintendent of Academics to promote a unified culture of academic excellence

Collaborate with campus-level leadership to build instructional leadership capacity to enhance student achievement.

Plan and lead high-quality and relevant professional development activities for teachers and administrators.

Analyze and assess academic data to inform curricular programming.

Research, evaluate, and implement a comprehensive and cohesive system for academic excellence that is informed by data and grounded in research for continuous school improvement.

Apply research-based best practices for adult learning, leadership development and all areas of professional development.

Identify trends for program effectiveness through the use of school data.

Facilitate the cyclical review of the evaluation system for teachers and other instructional roles on the campuses.

Facilitate and lead the NWEA MAP Growth testing to include professional development to ensure fidelity and impact on student learning.

Collaborate with school leadership on teacher-related issues to help improve performance.

Lead, monitor and facilitate the yearly process for creating/approving school calendars.

Oversee, coordinate and support the new teacher programs, mentor teacher programs and master teacher programs.

Visit schools on a regular basis to assist with instructional leadership.

Assist with walkthrough, evaluation and all teacher assessment tools for all schools to use and impact the classroom.

Organize and motivate diverse groups of people to achieve a common goal.

Adhering to safety training and protocols daily and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.

Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree in education or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in education.

Minimum of three (3) years’ as a classroom teacher.

Must have Principal leadership experience.

Experience in instructional leadership and coaching.

Experience designing curriculum and implementing innovative programming.

Experience in program management or leading a program preferred.

Catholic school experience preferred.

License and Credentials:

Teacher Certification required

Principal Certification required

Reliable transportation

Valid driver license

Valid vehicle insurance

Instructional Coaching Certification preferred

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

Must be able to build and maintain professional working relationships with all levels

Knowledge of current curriculum standards in K-12th

Proven ability to be an effective instructional coach

Strong skills in data analysis

Experience with computer software, web conferencing platforms, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team

Must have good written and verbal skills

Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes up to 50% local and 0% overnight.
