Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Administration and Information the System Administrator is responsible for overall status of CAFN Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems. The incumbent plays a crucial role in managing, maintaining, upgrading, and securing CAFN’s IT infrastructure in a dynamic setting, with a focus on future growth. The System Administrator works closely with the Network Technician, providing them with second level technical support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, networking, and troubleshooting in mainly Windows and Linux environments.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or a demonstrated 3+ years of experience in system administration, preferably in a mixed Windows and Linux environment.

Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Network+, or

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach to managing IT systems and services.

Conditions of Employment:

A valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license.

Criminal Records Check

Valid First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain

Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends, as required

Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods, as directed

The System Administrator must coordinate with the Network Technicians to schedule any time off so there is always one IT person on site.
