Spring 2025 Program Dates: Approximately January 2025 – April 2025

JOB SUMMARY:

This intern role will allow the student to gain firsthand experience and understanding of PR and its role within Trade, Marketing and Sales at Universal Orlando. Core responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day information distribution, coverage tracking, writing media materials, media management, assisting with event planning/execution, etc. Intern will also have the opportunity to shadow campaign planning and implementation for marquee events such as Mardi Gras as well as new product/offer launches and hotel offerings. This internship will also provide the unique opportunity to assist with the tactic planning for the launch of Universal Epic Universe.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops various PR materials, including media alerts and press releases.

Regularly updates media contact lists and monitors Media & PR inboxes, including answering media requests in a timely manner.

Participates in brainstorm sessions for major PR tactics and pitches.

Tracks media coverage and sentiment and provides summary reports to management, as needed.

Assists with implementing tactics and event planning, including broadcast shoots.

Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.

Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.

Preferred majors include: Public Relations, Communications, Integrated Marketing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

Must be comfortable to interact with media contacts in-person, by phone, and by email.

Proficient in research and analytical skills preferred.

Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Superior written & verbal communication skills.

Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

Consistent attendance.

Please note the following:

This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.

Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2025.

Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
