International Business Development Director

The role of the Business Development Director for International markets is to source and acquire new multinational clients and source and win business development opportunities while leading existing multinational corporate and carrier clients relationships

This position is a key pillar in Sedgwick International’s income generation strategy and it serves to (i)increase and maximize the acquisition of new clients and (ii) increase and diversify our existing revenue with existing strategic multinational clients enabling the business to achieve its top line revenue targets and improve its brand reputation.

You`ll be expected to make a significant contribution to the success and development across all business streams including claims management services such as TPA, Loss Adjusting and Specialties but also in the emerging space of no-claims services such as Brand Protection and others.

An individual who naturally networks within such arenas will be expected to implement a consultative sales approach ie to develop and materialize new business opportunities by understanding the strategies and interpreting the needs and requirements of the key players within the (Re)insurance, corporate and broker markets (the customer segments targeted)

Key Objectives:

Source, win and grow multinational TPA business opportunities across all customer segments targeted working in conjunction with local TPA operations

Source, win and grow multinational nominated business opportunities working in conjunction with local Loss Adjusting operations

Set up feedback processes to improve success rate

Hold responsibility for official multinational Tender bids, proposals and presentations working in conjunction with US and UK bid teams and operational teams within the business

Forge close working relationships with key internal operational stakeholdersLead cross-border relationships with existing strategic multinational clients’ HQs so as to (i) grow and diversify revenue (ii) promote Sedgwick’s brand

Key Accountabilities:

Gain the trust of new multinational clients and be their focal point into the business until remit to operational teams

Maintain the relationship with existing multinational clients to support cross-selling strategies

Deliver business growth that meets Sedgwick Product strategic aims and Growth Bridge

Help significantly raise the profile of the business development function, internally and externally

Ensure new business is managed within agreed frameworks and that the function is fully conversant and complies with regulatory requirements and best standards and practices

Coordinate with Implementation teams to support transfer to operational teams

Maintain individual pipeline management tool

Produce and develop Management Information in support of business development activity

Management of ad hoc projects

You will have/will be:

Extensive experience in a business development capacity and/or a relationship management function with a proven international exposure

Familiar with claims management solutions such as TPA and Loss adjusting services

Proven familiarity with the (Re)insurance ecosystem ie carriers, brokers and corporates

Skilled in dealing with people at all levels up to CEO/board level personnel

Ability to listen to clients’ needs and requirements

Ability to work with operational teams to develop practical and innovative solutions in response to clients’ needs

Ability to collaborate and work with country sales leaders

Self-belief and belief in the Sedgwick brand

Business acumen

Experienced negotiator familiar with varied procurement strategies

A high level of interpersonal skills is required including the ability to motivate and inspire confidence in others as well as think strategically

Knowledge of global insurance markets

High level of familiarity with insurance technology
