The role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Technician to join our offshore product market group. Reporting to the Clean Room Supervisor the Electrical Technician will, inspect, assemble, test and pre-commission assemblies and sub-assemblies and installations as required to meet project delivery.
You will be responsible for:
Carry out the build and wiring of Control Panels, JBs, Pods etc. on a day to day basis liaising with the Senior Electrical Construction Engineer and relevant project contacts as necessary.
Inspect and test Control Panels, JBs, Pods etc. as defined in specific FAT procedures. Record results.
Check parts for assembly are available from stores and identify any shortages
Review tooling requirements for specific project(s)
Carry out electrical installation, repair and maintenance works for workshop and offices
Ensure correct certification in place for electrical testing prior to undertaking works
Carry out pre-commissioning checks in accordance with approved documents and correct supervision
Be responsible for specific build and test documentation (for project) and hand over to Senior Electrical Construction Engineer.
Work with Senior Electrical Construction Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer to fault find/trouble shoot problems with assembled equipment (Control Panels, JBs etc).
Review progress for assembly work scopes on a weekly basis with the Senior Electrical Construction Engineer, highlighting areas of concern.
Identify and raise with Senior Electrical Construction Engineer workshop hazards and precautions on specific project activities.
To carry out duties in a safe and professional manner.
Job scope will include but not be limited to the above. At certain times the work may vary dependent on the specific project requirements as advised by the Senior Electrical Construction Engineer / Project Manager.
Review specific electrical/assembly drawings with Senior Electrical Construction Engineer and discuss and agree any changes required.
Be responsible for care and return of tools
Identify and raise with Supervisor risk assessment (workshop hazards and precautions) for specific activities
Positively comply with all HSE requirements and participate in identifying and raising HSE concerns by use of systems such as SHARP cards, Near Miss Reports, etc.
Support a continuous improvement culture; ensure that issues are identified and logged by use of company tools such as non-conformance reporting, lessons learnt etc
Maybe required to travel and work nationally and internationally as required to meet the needs of the business, including offshore works
Any other duties as directed by line management or MT member
Qualifications
Time served in relevant trade
Certified to operate workshop plant and machinery
Must have a working knowledge of the current building and electrical Regulations
Experience
Experience of heavy engineering environment
Electrical installation
Electrical testing
Skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Able to work independently and as part of a team, as required by the role
A flexible approach in order to work shifts as required to meet project deadlines
IT competent
