Schedule: Full-time

This is a remote/ rotational position, working three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

Our Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, modifications, and replacement of systems, including hardware, environmental systems, utility systems and structures for commercial buildings and camps.

The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.

Position Summary:

May procure parts and materials to support these functions through the computerized material and job order systems.

Isolates and identifies maintenance problems requiring work by specific craft journeyman.

May also perform janitorial duties as required.

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

Must be able to follow all company, client, safety and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies,

procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.

Performs basic HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical work.

Uses computerized ordering system to purchase parts and supplies.

Repairs and/or replaces plumbing fixtures, piping, small appliances (washers and dryers), janitorial equipment, exercise equipment and envirovac systems.

Performs minor mechanical, carpentry, and basic electrical work applications (ballasts, switches, receptacles, etc.).

Analyzes, diagnoses and repairs items identified above, and other equipment as needed.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and performs complete rebuilding of washers and dryers.

Access the organization job order system and create job orders.

Attend safety meetings and training sessions required by organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrates strong plumbing, mechanical, carpentry and appliance repair/replace abilities.

Knowledge of and proficient in carpentry, painting, mechanics, electrical/controls, and pipefitting/plumbing crafts.

Able to read and interpret technical manuals.

Ability to maintain maintenance records.

Ability to operate computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Office, Word, Outlook, Excel).

Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.

Capable of working with minimal supervision.

Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively with fellow workers and demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

· Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

· Standing for prolonged periods of time.

· Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather

· Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.

· Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.

· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

· Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

· Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.

· Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Background and proficiency in two (2) of the following areas: general building maintenance, HVAC, mechanics, electrical/ controls, and pipefitting/plumbing crafts.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.

North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Four (4) years’ experience in building maintenance in an industrial or commercial environment or relevant is preferred.

State of Alaska Electrical Journeyman Fitness certificate.
