We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for Industrial Quality Technician position under Quality Department The position will report Quality Manager and is based at Dunnottar
Job Purpose
The Quality Technician manages in his/her scope of work, the actions to ensure the conformity of the product and to help the continuous improvement on quality processes. Ensure the conformity of the product and act quickly to solve quality issues. The position report to the Subs Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the conformity of the product delivered
Ensure the respect of the Control Plan and Self Inspection at each workstation
Create non-conformity Report in the GSI system and ensure the curative actions are defined
Analyze and find the root cause of repetitive non-compliance and/or reworks - QRQC methods
Update the list of defects still open - validate and close the reworks done
In process inspection during manufacturing of a train
Generate reports for inspections performed
Co-ordinate and manage repairs or modification projects at various car repair locations
Auditing and approval of repair
Working with engineering drawings for car modifications and New Car builds
Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day
Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards
Monitor the use of equipment to safety and maintenance
Generate and submit reports to the quality manager
Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
Alert operators using the quality visions on the defect that were detected during inspection
Adhere to EHS rules and any work-related processes
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma in Quality, Engineering field (mechanical, electrical, metallurgy.
IT literate (word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Level 1 Welding Inspector, Level 1 NDT (PT & UT) will be advantageous
Technical knowledge with 1 to 3 years' experience preferably in the railway industry, in quality, ideally in an international organization
Knowledge about welding
Quality assurance, quality management, Product inspection, manufacturing management, or a related field
Mathematical, technical and mechanical skills, knowledge of production, processing, electronics, computers; able to use analytic and scientific, database, and Excel spread sheet, use of measuring tools
Team spirit approach and good communication skills
Special Requirements
The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots, and at times on the train corridors.
To carry out technical support and maintenance on 24/7 shift & on-call basis (night, day, weekend).
