Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a UAS SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1997P01 and is part of the NC 30th ABCT, National Guard (30th ABCT- Det 1/Co D 236 BEB / MD 2755-15).

The area of consideration for this position is CAT 1 (Areas 1) (NCARNG) Dual Status TECHNICIANS ONLY. Applications will only be accepted from current employees of the North Carolina Army National Guard with permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) or excepted indefinite (Tenure 3) status.

Duties

As a USA SUPERVISOR, GS-2101-13, you will serves as a leader of UAS unit in a Brigade Combat Team or Special Forces Group; advise commander/staff on organic UAS capabilities and limitations; coordinate organic UAS employment; recommends combined and joint UAS capabilities and employment; manage UAS standardization, safety, aircrew training programs; manage unit level maintenance program on MTOE equipment to insure it remains operational for flight; insure UAS mechanics are trained/perform all scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on all its associated equipment; develop UAS Intelligence preparation of battlefield products for full-spectrum operations; manage UAS mission planning, launch/recovery operations, intelligence reporting processes; manage UAS Reconnaissance, Surveillance,Target Acquisition operations; develop UAS SOP, UAS training scenarios, operations orders, integrate these into intelligence/aviation operations; perform UAS MC duties such as assigning flight crews, approving/conducting air mission briefings, approving targets, flight routes, assigning risk assessment factors, approving mission changes, evaluating mission performances /facilitate after AARs; conduct UAS survivability risk analysis, site survey, develop emplacement site analysis; coordinate logistical requirements for both garrison/field training environments; manage UAS battle-focused training, laser safety training programs, aviation mission planning; provide technical guidance to unit members to help develop data/grid coordinates as UAS input to the targeting process, coordinates targeteering, implements airspace command and control measures, submit this information to higher headquarters for mission analysis; validate UAS derived products, validates allied/threat equipment, integrate UAS into the Army Battle Command Systems; update Aviation procedures guide with UAS requirements; manage UAS emplacement/displacement and integrates UAS into the MDMP; develop the training plan for units UAS training, coordinates UAS gunnery range, integrates UAS into joint fires, coordinates UAS frequencies for training; manage and oversees the performance of the FSR; monitor daily work activity, ensure the FSR keeps the air vehicles and associated equipment operational and requisitions replacement parts in a timely manner; exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities; represents the unit in meetings with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted (E4 to E7) Warrant Officer (WO1 to CW4), or Officer (1LT to MAJ)

Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training arranging or procuring transportation for personnel, cargo or freight. Experience in non-routine pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. *For positions requiring supervisory functions; experience which included responsibility for the supervision and management of personnel. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements. Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
