As Trial Paralegal, you will play a crucial role on our team, providing essential support to our attorneys and ensuring the smooth progression of cases from initiation through resolution. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for thorough and effective legal representation, helping us to achieve justice and significant outcomes for our clients.

What you'll do:

Case Management & Legal Documentation: Oversee the initiation and resolution of personal injury lawsuits, drafting and managing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with court rules and requirements.

Client Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, proactively keeping them informed, addressing their concerns and inquiries, and ensuring a high level of service throughout their legal journey.

Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence, ensuring they are accurate and comply with court and jurisdictional standards.

Docketing/Case Management: Manage court deadlines and meticulously maintain cases files and documents in FileVine, our case management system.

Discovery Management: Coordinate the discovery process, including drafting and answering discovery.

Trial Preparation: Prepare for trials and hearings by organizing the case file, managing experts, and attending trial.

Pleadings and Motions Practice: Draft pleadings.

Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality, staying updated on legal changes and ensuring compliance.

What we're looking for:

Experience and Education: At least 3 years of experience actively managing litigation and trial support in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm; Florida court experience is required.

Educational Background: Associate’s degree and up; paralegal certification(s) is a plus, but not required.

Knowledge of Legal Systems: Strong knowledge of Florida's legal system and civil procedure, with the agility to adapt to varying jurisdictions.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal software, such as FileVine, O365 Suite, and Zoom Suite.

Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.

Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Analytical Skills: Capable of analyzing complex case management and procedures with a methodical and systematic approach.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a factual, straightforward, and direct style, but with the ability to pivot and become more socially approachable and outgoing depending on the situation.

Adaptability: Able to handle routine or repetitive tasks with patience, but also has the ability to adapt to disruptions and problems encountered, adjusting seamlessly when pressure arises.

Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player who brings a positive, can-do attitude to every challenge and collaborates effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.

Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and works with a sense of urgency, with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.

Resilience and Stamina: Demonstrates strong mental stamina and resilience, maintaining high performance and focus even during busy periods. This individual excels in dynamic environments, ensuring consistent and effective support for the legal team.
