Summary

The position is located in Hemet, CA, within the Southern Sage Youth Regional Treatment Center (YRTC) and serve as the Director of Nursing in supervising on-site RNs, and LVNs. The YRTC provides treatment services to youth ages 12 to 17 years of age with substance use/chemical dependency/co-occurring problems. The YRTC works with tribal and urban Indian communities to help provide a continuum of care, including preventive and aftercare services. Reports to the Health System Administrator.

Duties

Serves as the Director of Nursing in the supervision of on-site RNs, and LVNs.

Develop nursing staff work schedules and manages/oversees the work assignments and performance of nursing staff.

Work with the multi-disciplinary treatment team to assist with treatment and aftercare planning.

Provide diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic mental health service to clients and family members in a youth residential treatment center. Work with a variety of patients with substance abuse and mental health issues; these patients often exhibit aggressive, hostile, and irrational behavior.

Assess, diagnose needs, and set up a plan of action to meet identified needs by providing health services to individuals.

Coordinate services with other clinical providers and may make referrals which may include traditional or spiritual modalities.

Through a systematic process record review and interaction with the resident, authorized representative(s), and the health care provider(s), collect and analyzes data regarding the resident's physical, psychosocial, self-care, education, and anticipated discharge planning needs; collects information to determine the resident's strengths and needs. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Education

A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the at the time the degree was obtained.

Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: For Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) positions, applicants must possess a graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. Experience

In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Responsible for the coordination of medical care at the facility and to supervise other nurses in the facility including creating work schedules, assigning work, evaluating performance of staff, and recommending personnel actions (such as promotions, adverse actions, and selection of personnel). Make decisions on work problems presented by subordinate staff, vendors and contractors; and hearing and resolving complaints. Provide diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic medical service to clients. Experience treating patients that exhibit aggressive, hostile, and/or irrational behavior.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
