Position Summary:

As a Quality Engineer, you will serve as both an internal and external quality analyst, addressing and resolving quality issues to ensure our products and installations consistently meet high standards. This role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, R&D, and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive continuous process improvement activities using statistical techniques and lean methodology.

Coordinate the First Article approval process with suppliers and internal functions.

Analyze supplier reject data and recommend suppliers for the ship-to-stock program.

Support manufacturing personnel with issues related to defective material, lack of documentation, or process problems.

Retrieve, approve, and file Material Test Reports and First Article submissions.

Assist receiving inspection with questionable goods and follow up with Engineering as needed.

Create NCR reports and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries.

Coordinate in-house and offsite calibration.

Review and process NCRs from suppliers, create and disposition NCRs.

Create 8D corrective action reports and respond to customer inquiries.

Interface with suppliers on rejected and non-conforming products.

Follow up and track action plans for corrective actions.

Perform internal audits and facilitate action plans for non-conformances.

Act as the focal point for onsite third-party audits (ISO-9001, CSA, UL).

Conduct and organize employee training on ISO-9001, statistical techniques, problem-solving, and quality awareness.

Focus on supplier continuous improvement efforts, including conducting supplier audits.

Communicate quality issues across all areas of the company.

Lead or facilitate the development of Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Work Instructions.

Independently handle assigned projects and complete key milestones in a timely manner.

Proficient with modern measurement techniques.

Other Requirements:

Up to 10% travel, both domestically and internationally.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably within the Electro-Mechanical field.

Experience with assembly, testing, and/or failure analysis.

Proficient with measurement tools such as CMM, micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of statistics.

Ability to interpret and apply GD&T tolerancing.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven teamwork and leadership abilities.

Lead Auditor experience is preferred.

Familiarity with Automotive PPAP is desired.

Foreign language skills are a plus.

Language and Mathematical Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to communicate technical issues effectively both verbally and in writing.

Proficient in applying mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, test reliability, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply logical and scientific thinking to a range of intellectual and practical problems.

Handle nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs) in its most complex phases.

Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Requirements:

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 LBS.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Sufficient mobility to travel to industrial sites, offices, and facilities.

Working Conditions:

Frequent work in product assembly processing areas, warehouse shipping, and office environments.
