Position Details

The HDD Operations Manager plays a vital role in the market leadership team, facilitating and governing all aspects of our field operations. The HDD Operations Manager will specifically direct and support the work of Construction Manager/Field Construction Managers/Construction Supervisors who manage day-to-day operations initiatives surrounding project schedule, cross-functional coordination with project team, reporting, and project closure.

Responsibilities:

Generate, manage, and drive weekly and monthly operational production targets.

Coordinate operational schedule with the Project Management team.

Perform all cross-functional coordination with Project Management, Fleet, Safety and Recruiting.

Assist Project Managers with program schedule, client updates and reporting.

Ensure red lines are completed in real time and coordinates with PM/Engineering for As-builts.

Assist functional teams with and responsible for leading preconstruction planning, scheduling, documenting processes, identifying risks, stakeholder communication, training, execution.

Lead training efforts for the workforce to ensure everyone understands roles and responsibilities for operational processes.

Evaluate projects, tasks, and individuals. Distribute findings, recommend process changes, and corrective actions.

Work with Directors and AVPs to Create, modify, and distribute operational processes.

Responsible for clear operations processes and all operational use of tools surrounding project start, execution, and closure.

Develop and set expectations for Construction Managers, Construction Supervisors, Field Construction Managers, and Foreman.

Work with Construction Managers, Field Construction Managers, and Foreman to develop and set expectations for all field positions.

Regular field visits and evaluation of crew’s performance related to safety, quality, and adherence to company best practice.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in Operations/Construction Management background in field leadership preferred.

Telecom industry and underground construction experience strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to understand key operational and leadership principles and deep understanding of crew and production planning and management.

Understanding of different methods of construction including trenching, microtrenching, boring, concrete and asphalt restoration, general excavation.

Proven experience driving growth and profitability in a high pace

Effective written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

Willingness to work extended hours as needed

Must be at least 21 years of age to meet Tilson’s driving eligibility requirements.

Tilson leads with integrity around pay transparency; as part of the compensation plan for this position you can expect a pay range of:

$115,000.00 - $150,000.00
