Job Summary
The Automotive Contract Clerk at Harbor Chevrolet is a full-time, hourly accounting and finance position in the automotive industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the timely and accurate completion of dealership documents related to new car sales. The Automotive Contract Clerk is responsible for completing automotive contracts, including tax, title, and license forms, and adhering to all laws and regulations. This position is located in Long Beach, California.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive semimonthly compensation of $25 to $28 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Other benefits include health and dental insurance, 401(k), vacation pay, and other employee perks.
Responsibilities
Process automotive contracts in an accurate and timely manner
Input automotive contracts into the dealer's computer systems (Dealer Track)
File 8300's
Process all warranty cancellations and remits to customers
Process all loan payoffs
Post all fundings and ensure the car deals are funded properly
Make sure all documentation is ready for DMV processing
Review automotive contracts for accuracy and completeness
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Work with Finance Managers to make sure paperwork is complete
Process Dealer Trades
Reconcile accounts and issue customer refunds
Assist the office manager and controller in various accounting and financial tasks
Each contract clerk also gets the opportunity to do other functions within the office
Answer customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service

Minimum 1 years of experience in an Automotive Contract Clerk role
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in the automotive industry
Working knowledge of the automobile industry and laws/regulations related to it
Strong understanding of computer systems and technology
Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Proven track record in automotive accounting
Exceptional working knowledge of Dealership DMS (We use Dealertrack)
Proficient in MS Word and Excel (or Google Docs). Must have strong Excel Skills.
