JOB PURPOSE:

Working under the direct supervision of the Inventory Manager, the Assistant Inventory Manager is responsible for assisting the Inventory Manager in the management of the Inventory Department and Inventory team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with the proper ordering and maintenance of pharmacy inventory as directed by Inventory Manager and Management Team.

2. Assist with Automated Drug Cabinet (ADC) operations and management.

3. Participate in the management of out of stocks and unresolved inventory issues.

4. Maintain temperature logs for all applicable medication storage areas.

5. Maintain organized medication storage areas.

6. Receive medication orders from wholesalers and stock properly.

7. Routinely monitor expiration dates of medication inventory.

8. Participate in Quarterly or periodic pharmacy inventories.

9. Generate and monitor reports as needed for proper inventory and ADC management.

10. Assist other departments as needed.

11. Keeps supervisor informed of daily activities, and issues

12. Must get along with co-workers; maintain effective relationships with management staff

13. Must have timely, regular attendance.

14. Follows all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and charged with reporting violations to the appropriate supervisor.

15. Carries out all duties with a “Commitment to Caring” and in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and philosophy.

16. All other duties as assigned by supervisor

17. Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment

Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Technician registration with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy required

South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred but not required)

2-year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

Other Training, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

Experience with Microsoft Excel (preferred but not required)

Medical terminology and knowledge of medication names

Knowledge of inventory procedures

Ability to supervise Pharmacy Technicians

Ability to effectively use equipment such as packing and pre-packing machines
