Salary Range: $62,000 - $65,000

Program Overview – Community Programs, Employment Services

Employment Services is a dynamic and result oriented program within CPU which offers a range of resources, supports and services to respond to the employment needs of job seekers and hiring demands of the employers. The goal of Employment Services is to help Ontarians find sustainable employment by connecting them to gainful employment opportunities and or guiding individuals on a path to higher skills and trainings to achieve their career goals.

What You Will Do

Responsible for improvement of quality of services and the operational processes of different program components and for the integration of relevant services.

Position is based out of the 650 Queen Location and supervises the day-to-day operations at the Queen & 1491 Danforth Employment Services Team.

This position also oversee the Better Jobs Ontario (BJO) staff and activity with the Employment Ontario team

Assist in the development and review of program protocols, processes, and workflow in order to improve quality of service, and build a system to monitor implementation of those and propose changes as needed to ensure qualitative and quantitative outcomes of the program are achieved consistently.

Oversee and monitor performance of direct reports to ensure that staff are fulfilling their responsibilities, following policies and procedures, and meeting targets and outcomes.

Undertake activities to integrate relevant components of other programs within Employment Services program provisions.

Ensure client referral process between the roles of Employment Services Team so that clients are supported for job development.

Coordinate Job Fair activities with the team through planning, employer selection, using/developing appropriate screening tools, promotion of the events, clarifying client registration process in the job fairs, etc.

Determine client supports & employer incentives allocation for client placement with employers using incentives allocation tools, budget, and financial reports and monitors employer incentives & client support budgets, forecasts budget spending, and prepares reports for funder and internal use.

Audit and ensure Employment Services Team complete all documentation for programming as per protocol, such as Intake & Assessment details, Consent Forms, ID Verification, employer sight inspection, WSIB and 3rd party liability insurance documents, training incentives agreement form, on the job monitoring, placement evaluation, etc.

Ensure all client and employer related documents are appropriately available and easily retrievable for funder or external financial and compliance audit purposes.

Collaborate with other employment service providers at the Employment Services level.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop employer engagement strategies from Employment Services program perspectives and implementation plan.

Research labour market trends and future of work to support the teams in meeting clients’ career goals, with particular focus on job seekers who are farthest from labour market.

Ensure the anti-racism objectives and community development principles of the organization are achieved within the programs.

What You Bring to the Team

Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Social Services, Business, etc.).

3+ years of experience supervising programs and staff, preferably in a unionized environment.

2+ years of direct work experience in Employment Ontario & the EOIS CaMS Database.

Knowledge of labour market trends, especially related to employment of vulnerable populations including youth, newcomers, OW/ODSP recipients, and long-time unemployed population.
