To be successful for this Truck Mechanic role you are needing certain skills and qualifications, including:

Mechanic Responsibilities

Running diagnostic tests on vehicles and using laptop.

DOT Inspections

Analyzing diagnostic test results.

Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and Air braking and clutch systems.

Overhaul Cummins, Detroit, International, Mack, Mercedes, Caterpillar

Checking vehicle lighting systems.

Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.

Performing preventative maintenance.

Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.

Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.

Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

Requirements may look like

ASE Diesel/Auto Certification advantageous.

Valid driver license CDL.

Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.

Good IT and diagnostic skills.

Using hand tools

Physically fit and able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.

Attention to detail.

Good interpersonal skills.

Verbal communication skills.

Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to

write simple correspondence.

Effectively present information in a one-on-one situation or group.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measures, using whole numbers, common

fractions and decimals.
