JOB SUMMARY: Wash Room operators use machinery that washes the inside of chemical totes. They must follow standard instructions to unload, stage, and wash totes.

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 2-3 years of experience in a chemical production environment.

Preferred: 3-5 years of managerial experience in a chemical production environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification

Required: A Wash Room operator must have basic mathematics skills as well as a solid understanding of the metric system. Must be able to lift heavy drums and bags as well as be prepared to wear a full-body suit for protection from chemicals. Must be able to pay strict attention to detail since the job requires monitoring equipment and checking for overall consistency in tote cleanliness.

Preferred: Forklift certification

CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions)

Must check for consistency in tote cleanliness.

Follow sanitation and safety guidelines thoroughly when cleaning machinery.

Inspect equipment or units to detect leaks or malfunctions, shutting equipment down if necessary.

Observe safety precautions to prevent fires or explosions.

Completes special projects upon requests, and other duties may be assigned.
