We are looking for an experienced Private/Public Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud and Resource Orchestration development team.

The Scrum team you will join is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the infrastructure and orchestration layer on which we deploy and run our applications. You will participate in initiatives delivery new capabilities and services based on the immediate and future needs of the other teams. You will contribute to the definition, design, implementation, debugging, testing, and release of these components. You will support other application development teams with the deployment and use of the orchestration layer.

Our current stack is based on a productization of Red Hat OpenShift 4, augmented with capabilities that are relevant for our customers’ specific use cases, as well as additional components to enhance the observability, operability, and developer experience of our system.

Our long-term vision for the company’s Cloud Native transition is that the containerization of network functions and enabling flexible deployment and operations in a variety of private, hybrid and public cloud environments will be key to meet the quickly evolving needs of the satellite communications industry.

Success requires identifying optimal solutions, adhering to best practices, strong troubleshooting skills, industry trend awareness, and teamwork. Contribute to defining and reviewing the cloud strategy, design, implementation, debugging, testing, and release.

Take accountability and ownership for the quality of the delivered software.

Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies.

Participate in the prevention, analysis and resolution of incidents and field issues.

Provide proposals for improving the product and our way of working.

Automate recurring tasks and contribute to establishing Continuous Integration, Deployment and Testing for our components.

Actively engage in the team’s Scrum events and cross-team planning and review activities.

Mentor and support junior colleagues and establish best practices in the team.

Support the product owner in appropriate prioritization of technical user stories.

Define and follow up processes, standards, and best practices for optimal use of private/public cloud service offerings

Create relevant and user-oriented documentation and transfer the necessary knowledge to other engineering teams

Qualifications

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a relevant field, or equivalent through experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

5 or more years experience as a Cloud Engineer.

Expert knowledge of GNU/Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred).

Expert knowledge of Cloud Service Provider platforms.

Good knowledge of Cloud security.

Good knowledge of open-source Cloud Native platforms and tools.

Good knowledge of scripting and programming best practice

Good knowledge of K8S, AKS, EKS, Helm etc

Good understanding of CI / CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps principles.

Hands on experience with :

Network infrastructure

IaC and Configuration Mgmt

Knowledge of Virtualized and Containerized Network Functions

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience working in a Scrum team is a plus

Experience working in a Telecommunications environment is a plus
