In this role, you will play a key role within a cutting-edge business in the nuclear sector. You will work on a diverse project portfolio and high-profile customer base, supporting a wide range of commercial activities at an exciting time in a nuclear renaissance.

We’re a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority. With a world-leading power portfolio and a rich heritage of power solutions, Rolls-Royce Submarines is actively developing Power to explore our universe. In parallel to new and exciting Submarines programmes, such as AUKUS, Rolls-Royce Submarines is developing innovative solutions, including deployable Microreactors for Lunar Surface Power. We continue to advance in manufacturing innovation and technology to support our ever-important Submarines power plant programmes.

Work with us and we’ll welcome you into an inclusive culture, one that invests in your continuous learning and development, and gives you access to a wide breadth and depth of experience.

There are exciting new opportunities on the horizon for Rolls-Royce Submarines. For this role in particular we’re looking for passionate and highly motivated individuals to join our Commercial Function as we build a better world with Nuclear!

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts. Also within Commercial, we offer professional accreditation opportunities, and an ability to earn up to 10 days additional holiday, as well as paid overtime, depending on grade.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

You will form a primary interface with the customer and your main role and responsibilities will include:

Maintaining and further developing relationships between Rolls-Royce and its existing and new customers.

Effectively and efficiently managing our most valuable customer accounts.

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to manage and limit the risk to the business.

Managing emergent business issues including new product introduction, emerging requirements, contractual change and the resolution of disputes and claims.

Providing expert commercial advice and guidance to the programme, technical and finance teams.

Coordinating and authoring business proposals for new contracting arrangements and emerging requirements, executing existing contractual principles.

Leading, negotiating, and delivering the tender evaluation process.

Drafting complex contracts from first principles and other legally binding agreements involving negotiating with senior customer stakeholders.

Writing and tailoring communications for briefings into senior stakeholders within the business.

When necessary, deputising for management in dealing with stakeholders at all levels.

Who we’re looking for:

At Rolls-Royce we embrace Agility, are Bold, pursue Collaboration and seek Simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles. And for this role in particular, we are looking for:

A great team player with a record of building successful and enduring relationships across multidisciplinary teams, throughout the business and within customer teams.

Preferably, experience working in similar roles.

Someone who possesses enthusiasm and a high commercial aptitude, and who is ambitious and confident.

Has excellent communication, negotiation, contract management and influencing skills.

Can hit the ground running quickly.

Has positive attitude, meticulous attention to details and ability to take new challenges.

Showing a commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to enhance your relationship and business skills.

Demonstrating personal traits and behaviours that align with Rolls-Royce’s company values of creating trust, pride in delivery and customer excellence.

Please be aware that the priority will be given to employees identified as being at high risk.

The professional level and the salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. It is advised that you inform your current manager of your application for this role.
