Arkansas Talent Group is working with a large Construction Company to help them find an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a newly created position due to growth in the organization. This position will report directly to the AP Manager but also work on some special projects with the Controller. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of accounts payable processes, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payments, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. Duties:
Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, coding, and approval workflows.
Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure proper accounting and allocation of expenses.
Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure alignment with project budgets and contracts.
Manage and maintain vendor relationships, including handling inquiries, resolving issues, and negotiating payment terms.
Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, aging reports, and other financial metrics for management review.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
Implement and maintain internal controls and best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable processes.
Support the Accounts Payable Manager in audits and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounts payable staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction industry
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of transactions accurately and efficiently
