Director CX/UX Design (Public Sector)

As Director, Customer Experience & User Experience (CX/UX) Design within our Organization and People consulting practice you will lead client engagement and project initiatives aimed at transforming digital experiences for federal government employees and U.S. taxpayers. You will collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to understand user touchpoints and customer journeys and will lead the design and execution of engaging interactions. Ideally, you will bring a consultative approach and proven track record of successfully managing comparable complex initiatives, driving CX/UX implementation projects while delivering high quality deliverables, and fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

Director CX/UX Design (Public Sector) Key Responsibilities Include:

Lead and manage complex CX/UX projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Conduct comprehensive user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.

Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design ideas.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program managers, engineers, and business units to align on project goals and deliverables.

Develop and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across all digital products.

Analyze and leverage user data and analytics to continuously improve the user experience.

Advocate for user-centered design principles and methodologies throughout the organization.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX and CX design.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field.

10-12 years of experience in UX/CX design, with 5+ years for large, enterprise applications.

Demonstrated expertise with research-based user experience, interaction design, visual design, and usability testing.

Proficiency with a range of design and prototyping tools.

Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful CX/UX projects, demonstrating your design process and outcomes.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders at all levels.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal teams.

Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Substantial experience working CX/UX design for Fortune 300 companies.

Knowledge of front-end development languages such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Experience with service design and designing for omnichannel experiences.

Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.

Certification in CX/UX methodologies or related fields.

Proven ability to mentor and guide junior designers

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Director, CX/UX Design (Public Sector): Pay is commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided.
