Position Overview: Manager, Product Development - FHS is responsible for supporting the commercialization of ingredients for menu items and relevant intellectual properties by collaborating with cross-functional team members. The position works directly with suppliers to author and commercialize product specifications. The position is also responsible supporting test kitchen needs

Responsibilities:

Finalize ingredient specifications and hold suppliers accountable during commercialization

Test kitchen management and support, evaluation, and coordination of sample review

Support consumer paneling and sensory product evaluations

Assists in product development activities to create new products and/or improve existing products.

Responsible for testing recipes to validate ingredient and product specifications for and from our vendor partners

Communicate written and oral complex technical messages to cover project status clearly, while bringing technical leadership and transparency to all department

Deliver projects success with the agreed upon metrics including cost, technical feasibility, commercial feasibility and consumer acceptance

Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve various project challenges with the support of cross-functional team members

Able to support successful new or innovative product launches in a rapidly changing environment.

Excellent organization skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects each in differing stages of development

Proficient in the analysis of test data to determine product development tactics

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor Degree in Food Science/Technology, Meat Science, Bakery Science, Food Microbiology or related field.

1-3 years of experience in a corporate R&D environment with proven track record in leading projects and commercial food manufacturing experience is preferred

Strong scientific knowledge of food ingredients and manufacturing processes

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple products

Strong time management skills

Knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations as they relate to standards of identity, ingredients, nutrition labeling and label claims.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Knowledge of applicable procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to product commercialization

Demonstrated excellence in leadership, strategic planning, problem solving, and project execution spanning multiple disciplines and teams.

Ability to influence others; ability to clearly communicate and understand information in business English, both orally and in writing

Ability to work independently and in an effective manner

Ability to quickly adapt in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
