Position: Regional Sales Manager – Stationary EMEA

Report to Title: VP, Global Sales - Stationary

Location: Europe

Position Overview:

The Regional Sales Manager, Stationary is a key position within C&D Technologies/Trojan Battery Company EMEA division and is responsible for supporting established financial and sales volume goals, specifically within the stationary motive band vertical of the business. Key responsibilities include developing sales and key account plans, driving results, providing pricing strategies and ensuring customer satisfaction. Product knowledge and exceptional sales skills are critical.

Responsibilities:

• Leads sales development efforts for penetration strategy in the European Stationary division.

• Grow the Trojan C+D Technologies Brand share within the assigned market and geographical segment.

• Create target customer lists and accounts while also developing a sales strategy and account

plans to meet sales targets and quotas.

• Lead efforts to remove barriers that hinder successful sales performance, help set

appropriate inventory levels and drive efficiencies to meet customer requirements.

• Seek and develop new markets and new opportunities within the Energy Storage Solutions Deep-Cycle segment for C&D Technologies/Trojan Battery products and services.

• Influences, develops and empowers employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.

• Works with leadership to facilitate product pricing, scrap pricing and address competitive issues.

• Facilitate rebate and incentive programs for dealers' partners.

• Leads all sales development efforts for penetration strategy and tactics and assures his/her accounts is timely in pursuit of new customer contacts.

• Leads all "shepherding" activities for his or her staff to protect and grow "share of

customer" for existing clients.

• Directs "hunting" resource allocation and budgets to achieve company goals.

• Ensures critical customer deadlines are met.

• Maintains consistent communication with sales staff.

• Reports sales results to management.

• Makes sales calls and sales visits.

• Follows quality system procedures.

• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales and profitability quota.

• Analysis of the markets, customer segments and applications.

• Management of customer relationships and accounts

• Hunting and finding new, incremental large multi-million-dollar opportunities.

• Negotiating deals and closing large million dollar plus opportunities.

• Interfacing and working with company’s channel partners and manufacturers rep

organizations locally.

• Develop high level, executive relationships for partnerships.

• Gather, interpret and report market trends. Recommend strategic actions, including the

development of markets, new markets and products; Identify customer product needs and

communicate requirements to Marketing and Product Engineering for development.

• Take lead role in gaining favored supplier status through corporate contracts at key assigned

account.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, financial or marketing field. MBA preferred.

• 5+ years of sales experience is preferable.

• Must be able to think strategically and financially.

• PC programs – MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

• Strong leadership skills.

• Ability to delegate and build a cohesive team.

• Proven ability to negotiate successfully with internal and external parties.

• Willingness to spend more than 50% of your time traveling.

• An enthusiastic team player with a desire to succeed & produce meaningful results.

• Strong presentation, and negotiation skills, analytical ability, managerial ability and professionalism.
