To power our growth, we are currently a Staff Hardware Engineer. In this role, you will join a talented team as they design and develop the hardware behind our market leading, renewable energy products. These products include our intelligent microinverters, battery systems, bi-directional EV chargers, and portable energy systems.

What you will do:

• Work on new products development and variants through the product lifecycle

• Work with cross-functional teams of hardware, firmware, test automation, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and procurement

• Specify, design, verify and debug complex circuits and PCBs for our system products

• Design validation and optimization of products and sub-systems

• Conduct DFMEA, Component Stress Analysis, DFM, and LTR failure analysis to ensure high volume product manufacturability and reliability

• Assist product compliance engineers to achieve global certifications for our products

• Specify engineering requirements, create test plans and generate test reports

• Technically mentor team members, manufacturing and field application engineers

• Develop products from the concept to market launch in a commercial environment.

• Raise the bar for technical excellence, accurate documentation and scientific rigor

What you bring:

• B.S. and 8+ years’ experience outside of university or

• Masters and 6+ years.

• Takes ownership of product development mission, not just individual tasks

• Knowledge of circuit schematic, PCB layout and simulation tools

• Practical experience of in-depth bench testing and debugging of hardware designs.

• Circuit design for high fidelity digital and analog signals and low EMF emissions

• Some experience using Python

Desired Skills:

• Experience with regulatory and compliance certifications

• Power Electronics circuits

• High speed digital and mixed signal analog design

• High-volume product development

• Experience with Lithium ion battery management

• RF and EMC, Wifi, BLE, Cell Modem, IoT

• Test automation

• OrCad schematic capture and Cadence Allegro PCB layout

• Python programming

• Knowledge of Embedded software

• Power supply and inverter topologies

• Control theory

Work location

• Austin – TX

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 per year. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions.

This position will receive employee equity, 401K match, ESPP, annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
