Position Overview
The University of Kansas Department of Physics is searching for a Part-Time Research Technician. This position will work with the experimental particle physics tracker group to help assemble and test order 1000 fine pitch electronics cables. The cables are made from 36 AWG wire that needs to be custom cut for the different assemblies, the dielectric chemically stripped, solder to Kapton paddleboards, and apply epoxy to protect the fragile cables. Quality assurance is needed in coordination with the engineering and physicist members of the group.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma/GED
One (1) year related experience that includes electrical assembly and fine pitch soldering as evidenced by application materials.
Excellent communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
Electronics technical training or certification
