What You’ll Do

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing HS&E’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Horizon Media’s internal accounting policies, and optimizing financial reporting processes to support HS&E’s growth and success.

Financial Reporting:

Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries and reconciliations

Collaborate closely with account management teams to gain an in-depth understanding of client relationships and contracts to assist with monthly variance analysis

Create executive level materials that clearly communicate financial results

Project Accounting:

Own the company’s accounting processes within QuickBooks for all owned properties (i.e., The Pickleball Slam, Women’s Championship Classic, etc.) and client experiential activations. Responsibilities include:

Assist with project budget creation through regular collaboration with broader project teams and analysis of prior event results

Client invoicing and collections

Bill approvals workflow and associated vendor payments

Reconciliation of credit card spend to individual projects

Consolidate monthly QuickBooks accounting entries with full company general ledger

Financial Analysis:

Update annual projections each month with latest actual results and known changes in future months

Assist with the annual budgeting process, including coordination of the planning cycle, revenue forecasting, evaluation of headcount needs, SG&A expenses and overhead allocations

Coordinate with Horizon’s workforce planning group to prepare and analyze employee hours reporting and associated client profitability

Other:

Work with the VP of Finance and other stakeholders to develop process improvements and manage procedures across the HS&E finance function

Provide oversight and support on other strategic finance needs, ad hoc analysis, and other projects as needed

Preferred Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)

5 years of progressive accounting experience

Experience with production accounting preferred

Thorough understanding of accounting principles, standards and regulations (i.e., US GAAP)

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, preferably experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

CPA or equivalent certification preferred

Salary Range$80,000.00 - $95,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
