AVIONICS TEST ENGINEER II / SENIOR AVIONICS TEST ENGINEER: LAUNCH VEHICLES

Based out of Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Avionics Test Engineer II / Senior Avionics Test Engineer - Launch Vehicles is responsible for the design, test, and integration of the electrical systems and electronics that form the backbone of our Launch Vehicle and Space Systems missions. You will support the Director of Manufacturing and Production and Design organizations, with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

Develop automated test hardware and test platforms in support of test programs with the intent to deliver to production

Develop test plans and programs in support of hardware and systems development

Manage, conduct and train production team members on Acceptance, Qualification and Proto-Flight test programs

Support the design and development of flight hardware to increase the level of design for testability and manufacturability

Support the analysis of COTS component test levels against mission environmental test requirements

Contribute to the development of engineering and business processes, including engineering and test processes, as well as other business processes to support Rocket Lab growth and capability

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS AN AVIONICS TEST ENGINEER II: LAUNCH VEHICLES

2+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

Understanding of electrical test equipment, test procedures, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation

Experience with Python programming

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS AN SENIOR AVIONICS TEST ENGINEER: LAUNCH VEHICLES

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

5+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering

Experience with Python programming

Understanding of electrical test equipment, test procedures, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or other technical discipline

Understanding of designing hardware from concept through production

Experience in environmental design testing, such as vibration, shock, thermal, and TVAC

Project/program management skills

Labview programming experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.

Must be physically able to commute to buildings

Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base Pay Range (CA Only)

$85,000—$160,000 USD
