Primary Purpose

The Lead Benefits Administrator is responsible for administration, compliance, effectiveness, equity, and efficiency of university-wide benefit programs.

Essential Functions

Administer comprehensive benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. Conduct regular reviews and analyses of benefits programs to assess effectiveness, competitiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements, recommending adjustments or enhancements as necessary. Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process, including coordination of communication strategies, enrollment materials, and systems support. Liaison and work with external benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants to negotiate contracts, evaluate services, and resolve escalated issues. Stay abreast of legislative changes, industry trends, and best practices in benefits administration, advising senior leadership on potential impacts and opportunities. Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and informational sessions to educate employees about benefits offerings, enrollment procedures, and retirement planning. Manage the administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable regulations, ensuring compliance and consistency in processes. Lead special projects and initiatives related to benefits administration, such as system implementations, process improvements, or cost-saving initiatives. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to benefits programs, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Serve as ADA Coordinator. Support the Chief People Officer in preparing budgetary forecasts, analyzing costs, and monitoring expenditures related to benefits programs. Partner with the Director of HR Operations to strategically plan and deliver best results to the Pacific community. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (Two (2) years of full-time experience in the same/similar position is equal to one (1) year of completed post high school education coursework). Five (5) years of benefit administration experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Professional in Human Resources ( PHR ) or SHRM Certified Professional ( SHRM -CP) certification. ADA Coordinator Certification or willing to take the certification within six (6) months of employment. Data and Tech savvy. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Schedule

Duties performed during standard business hours, additional time may be required to meet business needs or deadlines.
