3. Summary of the opportunity

- Client Overview: Join our client, a leading technology company, as an Events Manager to drive internal and external events, support communication initiatives, and ensure operational and strategic excellence of the Reston teams.

- Role Summary: As an Events Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a positive business and social impact by owning and driving initiatives that focus on community engagement, talent attraction and retention, and diversity and inclusion goals.

4. What are the key responsibilities?

- Own and drive internal and external events

- Create internal and external communications (newsletters, social media posts)

- Lead community programs to attract, retain, and empower technical talent

- Enable community building and professional growth opportunities across the organization

- Identify and develop relationships with local professional organizations, educational institutions, and technical communities

- Develop and implement a philanthropic initiative within the DC metro area

- Lead initiatives that advance diversity and inclusion goals

- Other job duties as required

5. What experience are we looking for to drive success?

- MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications:

- 8+ years of events management experience for a large organization

- 8+ years of experience in driving community engagement, building brand, and attracting and retaining talent

- Excellent project management and organizational skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong data analytical skills

- Executive presence, leadership skills, and ability to influence

- High self-motivation and ability to excel in a dynamic workplace

- Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- Experience with Information Technology and Microsoft products

- Knowledge of Reston and DC Metro area communities

- Previous experience working with universities and non-profit organizations
