Cordia Resources is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a background in the construction industry and be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 120 employees, as well as managing accounts payable functions.

Title: Accounting Assistant (AP & Payroll)

Location: Washington, DC

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Key Responsibilities:

Process and manage payroll for approximately 120 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Handle accounts payable functions including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment disbursement.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.

Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, benefits, and deductions.

Prepare and file necessary payroll tax returns and reports.

Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare necessary reports.

Communicate with employees and vendors regarding payroll and accounts payable inquiries. Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and payroll, preferably within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
